4. Went to books the people and searched Basil Claymore. Found the "History of Sully County. In PERSI found a periodical with Basil Clement Claymore biographical notes 1824-1910 from South Dakota History dated 2007 Vol 37 Iss 2. I will have to get a copy and research this further.
5. In Sanborn Maps I looked at Rapid City and on the corner of 6th and Main is a building that was called the International Hotel that is the Alex Johnson Hotel now. This map was from 1885. This will be fun to look at more to see how the city has grown and evolved.
Thanks, Boxe, for your comments here. I'm sure you realize that you don't need to purchase the articles you find in PERSI. Just save the citation and find it in a library or ask the librarian to request it on interlibrary loan. :)
